  1. Brilliant!! We are always roaming around in search of McDonald’s for it’s free wifi which seems sort of perverse. I’m glad to know this PDF/ iBooks trick and will try it in France this summer. Thanks for the great research! Type A traveler!! So funny!!

    1. Thanks, Emily! I miss you! And your writing! Hope it’s all going well, wherever your travels have found you recently.

Girl, free wifi is free wifi! One more tip I forgot to mention: you can also take screen shots of your map while you are connected online (hold the home button and click the top button at the same time), and then those screenshots will be saved to your Photos.

Take care, and thanks for stopping by!

    1. Oh, that’s awesome! Android win. Even the iPhone Google app and Google Maps app don’t offer your custom maps there 😦 workarounds it is for now.

Hope you’re well, Jeff – happy new year!

  2. Sarahlynn,
Thanks for that extra tip! We are in the Florida Keys now, and back to NYC in March. You are a much more reliable and prolific blogger!! I’ve been doing poetry and a lot of online teaching which at least lets us travel. Keep up the great writing. I look forward to more!

    1. Ah, the Keys. I have a lot of good memories on Key West: Hemingway’s 6-toed cats, his typewriter, the lighthouse and the lovely old houses… Nice to winter there and then spring back in the North!! I’ll have to ask you offline about the online teaching bit, that is great! Thank you for your encouragement, it’s always appreciated.
