I’m Sarahlynn Pablo. I’m a Chicago-based writer and blogger.
On this blog, I write about food and travel in Places to Explore.
My writings on Filipino and Filipino American culture are collected under Pinoy is in the Heart. The latter work spawned Filipino Kitchen, which I run with my collaborators, photographer extraordinaire Natalia Roxas and Chef AC Boral. At Filipino Kitchen, we connect Filipino culture and history with our culinary heritage. We’re also on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
In the Philippines in 2012, I wrote a chapter for Street Food Around the World: An Encyclopedia of Food and Culture (ABC-CLIO, 2013), available now on Amazon and WalMart.
My second published work, a chapter on Chicago, is in the book, 101 Places to Get F*cked Up Before You Die (St. Martin’s Press, 2014). Yes, that’s the real title, and it’s available on Amazon. Read the story about my favorite Chicago bar which unfortunately for these readers was cut from the book.
Here’s a good summary about my feelings on food & travel:
